1,000 meals given to the community

In the month of March Big Mama’s Giveaway granted members of the community with an accumulative total of 1,000 free meals. On March 30th alone they prepared more than 450 meals at Junk Ditch Brewery located off Main Street. This was an initiative that aims to bring people together through a good-old-fashioned-community barbeque.

On the menu today: a chicken leg quarter, beans, corn, and a chocolate chip cookie.

It always means alot to me when we have an opportunity to help our families in Fort Wayne, no matter where they are in Fort Wayne, because together we are stronger and better.

said Ty Simmons, Executive Director of Human Agriculture Cooperative.

This is the first time Junk Ditch has hosted this event.

According to their press release, the Human Agriculture Cooperative hopes to continue this event at various fooderies for the next 6 months, and if you want to volunteer or donate to the cause you can email Human Agriculture Cooperative.
