21 Things Wrong and “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” is not one of them

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim is a charming charismatic Korean Drama that explores childhood trauma, the impact of childhood friendships, and the brokenness of mankind. It is a sweet drama following an egotistical man and his secretary who decides she wants to finally live her own life.

Except, after nine years of working for the narcissistic whims and needs of the Yoomyung Group CEO, what does life look like after she quits? This is the question that plagues Secretary Kim throughout the entire drama. As she ponders and reflects upon her impending resignation, her boss slowly begins to change. Will he be able to let her go or does he need her now more than ever? Betrayal, lies, and CEO Lee Sung Yeon’s childhood disappearance and kidnapping comes to light.  An array of plot twists are found around every corner, done in such a wonderful display of thoughtfulness. The story compels the audience to stick around for more; seeking answers right along with the characters. The end-result couldn’t be more rewarding. It is a drama I plan to revisit many times. If you are looking for a feel-good drama with captivating and loveable characters, an engaging plot that allows you to contemplate fate and the true villainy of the drama, then you came to the right place. The characters are well developed with incredible depth and personality. The leads are so cute and even the supporting characters bring meaning to the relationships and various storylines in this drama. Every single character has purpose and illicit great feeling from the audience.
What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? Nothing absolutely nothing. 10 out of 10 no question. This is my type of drama.

Have you ever heard the phrase “it’s too good to be true?”  Well, here is a list of 21 things that are so perfect that it must be wrong.

21 things wrong:

1. How these characters can be so perfect

These smiles, the affection, the brokenness; yet the acceptance both characters have for each other … its undeniable and so very heartwarming.

2. The childhood characters and actors

Not only are these children extremely adorable, but they are incredibly talented as well. The emotions they bring to the screen are both raw and immersive. I find them very endearing to the story and to the development of these captivating characters.

3. Perfect hair

I want to know who their stylist is …

This look, this style, it is so classy. It can make any girls’ heart pound.

On another note, I wish my hair looked that good in a ponytail …

FYI, Lim Hye Rim is Park Seo Joon’s stylist. You can read what the stylist had to say about creating his look here.

4. Her outfits

A lot of Kim Mi So’s outfits are incredibly cute. Several sources say that actress Park Min Young is a trend-setter. With outfits such as these, I would agree. I will admit that I would personally get rid of the white blouse underneath her little black dress, but she does pull it off well.

Looking for inspiration for new office apparel? Look no further. Kim Mi So has you covered with her classy and colorful arrangements. She brings a feminine flair to the office with these outfits.

Want to talk about chic and trend-setting? Let’s talk about THIS dress. It’s beautiful and I want this so bad. I know what I am going to buy myself for Christmas this year.

5. Him in that suit

Charcoal grey really suits him …

6. and this suit

…so does black pinstripes …

7. and this suit

honestly, what suit doesn’t look good on him?

8. Him out of his suit

I don’t think this needs an explanation …

9. This look

This provides me with endless entertainment … and chills too. I wouldn’t want to cross her. There is just so much personality here.

10. This text message exchange

I’d be lying if I said this has never happened to me! Can you even deny that you are in a relationship of some sort when this happens?

11. His “shining” aura

If she has personality … just look at him … talk about narcissism.

12. The on-screen chemistry

It’s fire …

… but full of embarrassing moments and entertaining misunderstandings

13. Them … together … couple goals

Honestly, if you don’t want this to happen to you, you are just lying to yourself. Look at those gazes #couplegoals

14. Forehead Kisses

They say that if a man kisses a woman on her forehead, he really cares for her and wants to protect her. Forehead kisses are super sweet and coming from a man like Lee Sung Yeon … they mean so much more.

15. Steamy Kisses

Is it just me or is it getting hot in here?

Where is that tall glass of water?

Ok, it’s getting really hot now. Nothing beats steamy kisses in a baggy t-shirt in the comfort of your home. It just speaks of total acceptance, especially when you are dealing with a narcissistic man like Lee Sung Yeon.

16. Awkward Kisses

I’m just gonna leave this here … if you are looking for a good laugh … you will die of laughter in this scene.

17. The blockbuster date

References a date that could only be found in a movie … but brought to life. In this instance, Lee Sung Yeon takes Kim Mi So to an amusement park that he had privately rented out. He gives her a world class date that she will never forget … deep emphasis on “never forget.”

18. References to “The Curse of the Blockbuster Date”

You wouldn’t want to be with a boring man now would you? What a cunning man.

19. Bro Talk

Park Yoo-sik sticks by Lee Sung Yeon through thick and thin. He is an excellent friend, a humorous supporting character, and advises Lee Sung Yeon even when CEO Lee doesn’t return the favor.

Caught in the act, his best friend calls it likes he sees it, but Lee Sung Yeon likes to play it cool.

At least he isn’t completely blind to social cues.

20. This FOIL secretary who constantly makes mistakes … but never gets fired

Honestly, this character brings so much humor to the office and the story. She is the absolute opposite of Secretary Kim. It is a wonder that she is still employed here.

21. This little devil

This little guy shows up anytime an innuendo occurs or when a character has “impure” thoughts. This “little devil” brings so much comedy to the series, while subsequently appealing to adult audiences through implicit meaning. There is nothing crude with this guy, just a fun time and a good laugh.

If this is so wrong, then I don’t want to be right. Cheers to the cast and crew. I would definitely recommend this series.
